Columbia strikes back

NYPD storms into Columbia University to clear out anti-Israel mob (nypost.com)

I think a lot of students didn't believe Columbia would call the cops in again. In part because Columbia mostly did not do anything they threatened to do before. Columbia threatens to expel student protesters occupying academic building - Washington Times

I still posit that the vast majority of the protesters have absolutely no idea of the actual situation in Israel and the "Palestinian" territories. That the "Palestinians" ALWAYS refuse peace. That Israel is one of the most multicultural, tolerant, and diverse countries in the world. These protesters are mostly sheeple but being led around by very evil and dangerous people. Still, at some point a 20-yr-old sheeple needs to be required to take some personal responsibility.

Also, not entirely surprising that many or most of the rioters/vandals who took over Hamilton Hall were not Columbia students: Columbia University protests: Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters arrested by NYPD overnight - ABC7 New York (abc7ny.com)

Just One Thing: Don't Negotiate with Terrorists-in-Training

I covered this a bit yesterday but it deserves more attention:

In what I think was a colossal mistake, the administrators at Northwestern University outside of Chicago negotiated with the student terrorists and gave in to some of their demands including giving a building for use by an Arab student group, putting students on a committee to offer guidance on the university’s investments, and paying the tuition for five Palestinian students. Interestingly, when the student-terrorists posted this agreement online, even more hardcore terrorists castigated them for agreeing to anything at all with the university. And this is the real point: so many of these people aren’t protesting because of a belief or a principle, but rather for the sport of it and because they think they’re smart and important and know how the world should run. Negotiating with these people just emboldens them. The only offer should be: stop or you’ll be expelled.

Meanwhile, back at Columbia, another brain-damaged student.

Here's the Twitter AI's summary of her "scholarship": Columbia PhD student Johanna King-Slutzky's dissertation on fantasies of limitless energy in the transatlantic Romantic imagination from 1760-1860 has sparked debate on social media. Her research explores the concept of metabolic rift, a term coined by Karl Marx, and aims to write a prehistory of this disruption of energy circuits caused by industrialization under capitalism. The dissertation has garnered mixed reactions, with some questioning its relevance and others praising the exploration of the relationship between energy and labor in the Romantic period.

Adam Frisch is the Democratic candidate in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, the seat currently held by Lauren Boebert who abandoned ship to run in the 4th CD when it seemed likely that Frisch would beat her if she ran again, even though the district is somewhere around R+7 (meaning Republicans with a seven-point registration advantage over Dems). Frisch came within about 500 votes of beating her last time (and probably would have if more people had thought it was possible) and so far this cycle he's raised a massive amount of money.

Other Stuff

Governor Polis has long hated TABOR refunds. Other Democrats have long hated any taxpayer who doesn't want to pay more. Now they're collaborating to end your TABOR refunds, partly by lowering the tax rate (good) and partly by turning your TABOR refunds into welfare payments (very bad): Colorado Democrats to cut income taxes, redirect TABOR refunds to low-income families (coloradosun.com)

I apologize for mentioning Ms. Swift two shows in a row, but I have to. I created a new unit of measure: People enjoyment hours per ton of CO2 emissions. P*H*E/CO2

This is the number of people who go to Taylor Swift concerts times the number of hours of enjoyment they get by attending (including time spent with friends before and after, having fun, talking about it, etc) times the amount of enjoyment (you can come up with your own measure or unit for that) divided by CO2 emissions from her airplane. I propose despite a large denominator due to flying around a lot to get to the shows, the total value of the equation for Ms. Swift is higher than for anyone else on the planet.

Florida's 6-week abortion ban takes effect today. It'll be interesting to see if it hurts Republicans in November's election.
