Democrats have not been pleased with how Attorney General William Barr has handled the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report. The report has been sent over to Congress on CD, but Barr held a press conference before the release which angered Democratic leaders.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer released a joint statement before Barr's Thursday (April 18) morning press conference accusing him of attempting to "spin the report" before the public gets a chance to read a redacted version of it.

“Attorney General Barr’s regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report, including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning — hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it — have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality," Pelosi and Schumer wrote in their statement.

After Barr's press conference, Democrats continued their attacks on the process and demanded that Mueller testify to Congress about his investigation.

AG Barr has confirmed the staggering partisan effort by the Trump Admin to spin public’s view of the #MuellerReport – complete with acknowledgment that the Trump team received a sneak preview. It’s more urgent than ever that Special Counsel Mueller testify before Congress.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is taking a victory lap as the Mueller report is set to be released to the public. The president tweeted that there is "No Collusion - No Obstruction!" along with a video montage featuring numerous clips of himself stating there was "no collusion." He also tweeted a Game of Thrones style image declaring it was game over for "haters and the radical left Democrats."
