AT 7:45 AM (MT), I'LL BE JOINED BY JOEL POLLAK, THE AUTHOR OF THE BREITBART.COM ARTICLE THAT MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE IS WHAT CAUSED PRESIDENT TRUMP TO TWEET ABOUT FORMER PRESIDENT OBAMA TAPPING HIS PHONES.
Joel is also the co-author of the new book, "How Trump Won: The Inside Story of a Revolution"
This is actually a very complicated story, but I think that Donald Trump may have put himself in a no-win position (and not just with the spelling bee officials) with a Saturday morning tweet storm that included this:
How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017
Some good analysis by Andy McCarthy here:
Much of the weekend's political conversation was over Trump's misspelled accusations which seem to be based on this article:
Politicians on the Sunday shows were asked almost exclusively about the story, which means that Mr. Trump has brought the whole Russia thing back to the forefront.
At 7:06, we'll talk with GQ columnist Nathaniel Penn about a shocking new investigative report he's written about the use and impact of solitary confinement in America's prisons.
Around the country, people engaged in "March 4 Trump" (on March 4). The pro-Trump folks generally seemed well-behaved and polite. The same can't be said about the anti-Trump protesters who truly do act (and dress) like the fascists they claim to hate. The second video below is from the violent Berkeley protests against the pro-Trump march, but even here in Denver, the anti-Trump crazies were burning homemade Russian flags (note: foul language in that link) with "Trump" emblazoned on them, and swearing, and wearing masks.
I promised you this story on Friday and failed to bring it to you...sorry about that, but here it is!
