Our guests on Friday:
6:36 AM Gary Alexander, Former secretary of health and human services in Penn and RI and currently an advisor to governors, Members of Congress, health systems and private businesses, joins us to talk about his recent article in which he describes how Medicaid reform really can happen in a way that takes care of those who need it while saving taxpayers' money:
7:36 AM Zackary Lewis joins me in studio to talk about his invention of the live stream program that you may be listening to my show, or any other iHeart show, on, and his upcoming venture which aims to use predictive technology to make power a more successful dating app.
8:36 AM Sara Taksler, a Senior Producer at The Daily Show and is the director of a new film called Tickling Giants, about Dr. Bassem Youssef, the "Egyptian Jon Stewart." Bassem dared satirize Egypt's dictators and the state-owned press on his tv show and paid a high price for it. http://ticklinggiants.com/
Governor John Hickenlooper, perhaps thinking longingly of retirement, has been fairly quiet lately. With all that's going on in this state, he decided to pipe up about the question about whether bars should be allowed to stay open later if local governments decide so for their own towns.
A friend of mine with some experience in Colorado politics put it this way:
There are big issues that he should be involved in and the only thing that draws his attention is this. God, he sucks.
We really need roads built.
The budget is half a billion out of balance.
College expenses are crazy out of control.
The trial lawyers are making housing unaffordable.
And all the state's bartender cares about is making sure it's illegal for a bar to stay open past 2 AM.
We'll talk about a bunch of other chemicals in Colorado: Pot, booze, and birth control...
Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow gets a well-deserved takedown from fellow liberal Stephen Colbert after her "scoop" about Donald Trump's "taxes" -- one which earned her scorn and actually benefited the president she loathes.
See my notes above about the movie Tickling Giants...playing Monday evening in Denver for one night only.
Thanks to 9News for this cool story about a chance to see some great Colorado history:
This pretty much speaks for itself...
