The Rundown - Tuesday, May 9, 2017 - Steve Hayes on Yates v Trump; Westminster trash; home security system that "sees" through walls?

At 6:15 AM, we'll talk with David DeMott, candidate for Westminster City Council, about Monday night's city council meeting at which most of the current city council was hoping to trash residents' freedom of choice in trash collection.

------

At 6:45 AM, our guest will be Steve Hayes, editor-in-chief of the Weekly Standard, to react to Monday's testimony by former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.

President Donald Trump is almost right that Sally Yates didn't make a lot of "new" news, but what she said was much more significant than Trump or his supporters want to admit. That said, it doesn't show or suggest that Mr. Trump is being manipulated by the Russians, but rather that he showed bad judgment in hiring Flynn and very bad judgment in keeping him for 18 days after we presume he learned this information.

This Aura home security system is pretty cool, and we'll talk with the company's co-founder at 7:36 AM.

Do you think they would have done this to a black woman? And how about the laughing-so-hard-I'm-crying emojis? (The older woman with her two dogs stopped by to ask them to make a little less noise...)

[UPDATE from Miami Herald:

At 5 p.m. (Monday) he showed up at the station and, according to the report, “spontaneously uttered ‘I messed up and I have to own up to it.’”
