The Rundown: Friday, June 9: UK election shocker; Mike Lee joins the show; Comey analysis

At 6:36 AM, Senator Mike Lee Joins the show to talk about the Comey testimony and his excellent new book, "Written out of History: The Forgotten Founders Who Fought Big Government." It's well worth reading, and here's where you can buy it:

Speaking of Comey testimony, boy to I have a lot to say about it. In short, there were no winners, but there were a few losers. My initial list of losers, with the biggest losers first:

1) NY Times, Washington Post, CNN
2) Every media outlet which has parrotted them
3) Jim Comey's reputation
4) Jeff Sessions (more added risk rather than overt loss)

President Trump was more a winner than a loser in this. His risk is that the administration mismanages the ongoing message and puts the president in a position of looking like a liar.

Also, this is a political Rorshach Test: What you saw in Comey's testimony depended almost completely on your political bias going in.

British conservatives lost their majority yesterday, but it wasn't because the country loves the Labour (left/far-left) party. We shouldn't read too much into it here in the US.
