This is the kind of politician the NRA is up against. I was thinking about this and it occurred to me that this really is of a piece with those on the left who say that "words are violence" when they disagree with the words. In other words, it has become a consistent tactic of the left to say that any constitutional (or natural) right of Americans that is inconvenient for them is suddenly a form of violence or terrorism. We can't let them get away with it.
