A few days back, I got a call from a representative of a group called the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, which is clearly a left-leaning think-tank/propaganda organization.
The pitch? "We want to explain to your audience why Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme." I said to the gentleman, "You know that it is, right?" He said "We don't think so" so I said that I'd be happy to debate one of their representatives.
Below, you'll find my conversation with Max Richtman, the president/CEO of the organization.
Although this is a few years old at this point, it's still very much on-point: https://www.scribd.com/document/72817256/Social-Security-Ponzi-Schemes-and-the-Need-for-Reform-Cato-Policy-Analysis-No-689
