Ross' first KOA blog!

Hey there!

Welcome to my KOA blog!

A couple of quick things about this blog:

I will have most of the links or videos that are relevant to what I talk about on the show included in this blog before the show starts.

If you're looking for something I talked about on the show and you don't see it here, please let me know and I'll either add it to the blog or send you directly whatever you're after.

So, for today...

Have you heard of the "Devious Licks" trend in schools, especially high schools, including here in Colorado? One of my kids (at a Denver metro area public high school) says that his school's bathrooms are now closed to students. What should the punishment be?

Here are a couple of articles, and a video compilation of school administrators' justifiably furious reactions:

Here's an interesting poll of Coloradans with some results I don't entirely understand.

See p. 29 to see the breakdown of who's worried (or not) about crime, and about climate change. I think these results are really strange and disconcerting.

I'm not surprised that high prices/inflation are at the top of the list right now.

A new Colorado poll shows some different results, although climate change is still above crime but below cost of living: Coloradans' Views on Major Issues Facing the State (copulsepoll.org)

And Bill Maher blames the "liberal media" for the level of fear of COVID among their viewers:

The big issue, in my opinion, is that someone...and it's probably not the "mainstream media"...is scaring the bejeezus out of our kids:

Climate Change Is Negatively Affecting Young People's Mental Health Globally : NPR (How silly is that headline? Climate change isn't doing ANYTHING to our kids' mental health; the incessant yammering about it is, though.)

Personally, I'm more worried about crime. How does this happen? Stolen cars, thefts at Denver airport parking lots surge (denverpost.com)
