TGIF Blogcast: Ross @ Broncos!; Pro-kid or pro-censorship?; Sheriff Brown

I'm so excited to be broadcasting from Denver Broncos training camp today

I'll be there a few more times over the next few weeks. I love the NFL and the Broncos, so this is a serious treat for me. We won't do too much Broncos talk since I'm not really a sports-show guy, but we'll have a little...because KOA is indeed the official home of the Denver Broncos.

Just One Thing: Fascinating and dangerous times

My friend Leland Vittert at News Nation puts out a great note each day that you can find at warnotes.com. Yesterday he summarized what’s happened in the US just in the past 2 weeks: A former president was almost assassinated, then as the GOP nominee he picked an inexperienced firebrand as his running mate, the head of the Secret Service resigned, the president disappeared for 6 days with COVID, pro-terrorist protesters rampaged in DC burning American flags and saying they’d kill Jews, the sitting president dropped out of the race for the first time since 1968, Democrats in Congress turned their backs on the prime minister of Israel during his speech, Chinese and Russian aircraft teamed up for the first time flying nuclear-capable aircraft near Alaska. We live in fascinating and dangerous times.

Starting with a chuckle: I know quite a few people who could benefit from this

Maureen Flatley is an expert in child welfare and child exploitation with a particular expertise in government reform and oversight. We'll discuss the proposed Kids Online Safety Act which may be up for a vote soon in the Senate. Some Republicans are supporting it but many have concerns that it contains provisions that will allow or explicitly cause government censorship.

In case you weren't sure about what Kamala thinks about the crime of crossing the border illegally, she makes it clear repeatedly in the video just below. To be factual and precise, however:

  • It IS a crime (misdemeanor) to cross the border illegally, and punishment can include jail
  • It is NOT a crime, but it is a civil violation, to stay past your legal deadline to leave if you enter the country legally initially. The remedy is deportation.
  • It IS a crime, potentially with higher penalties than noted above, if an illegal alien is deported and then crosses back into the US illegally
  • I'm sure this isn't true anymore because of Biden allowing a tsunami of illegals into the country in the last few years but it used to be that somewhere around half of all illegal aliens actually entered the country legally as tourists, students, or workers and then just didn't leave.

Ross's wife is weird:

Quite a headline as Kamala thinks about VP choice: Teacher’s Union Accused Of Laundering $1.5 Million To Bankroll Josh Shapiro’s Campaign (msn.com)

I don't know if it's true and if it is I don't know if PA Gov Josh Shapiro knows about it but if it's true it's a big deal and if Shapiro knew about it then his career is probably over (although you never know these days.) It would explain why Shapiro campaigned as being for school choice but has governed against it, which means for the teachers unions and against kids.

I note also that a couple of evil teachers union groups (sorry for being redundant about evil and teachers unions) have come out against Shapiro as being too pro-voucher even though Shapiro has betrayed that campaign position at every opportunity.
