Woman Fakes Medical Issue On Plane To Get Bigger Seat; Plan Backfires

A Florida woman's genius plan to avoid paying extra airline fees for a bigger seat backfired spectacularly, with the plane getting turned around.

According to the Pensacola Police Department, the unnamed passenger told staff she was experiencing "breathing issues" on Friday's American Airlines flight from Pensacola to Miami, with hopes for a free upgrade.

Instead, the pilot declared the situation an emergency and diverted back to the airport.

Admitting she made it all up, law enforcement removed her from the plane and the flight took off again two hours later. Criminal charges haven't been filed yet, but still could, reveals a police spokesperson.
