The President's Gift To Death Row Inmates

President Biden commuted the sentences of 37 out of the 40 inmates on federal death row. The administration is touting the move, celebrating American history's "largest single-day grant of clemency." In total, President Biden has pardoned 65 individuals and commuted sentences for 1,634 inmates during his time in office. Former DOJ prosecutor and member of the Attorney General’s Capital Case Review Committee, James Trusty, joins the Rundown to share his thoughts on the President's actions and the impact the commutations will have on the victims and their families.

The American Red Cross spends every year working to help those in medical need, and one of the most important needs during the holidays is blood. Red Cross national spokesperson Tiffayn Taylor joins the Rundown to discuss the importance of donating blood during the holiday season and why the blood supply trends low in the winter months. Later, they and how the blood supply has been crucial during disaster relief efforts.
