Prof Tells NYPD to Kick Nazis' Ass at McInnes Event

NYU Prof Goes on Profanity-Laced Rant at 'Proud Boy' Police Officers: 'You're Not Protecting the Students!'

BY VIRGINIA KRUTA

On Wednesday evening, violent protests shut down a UC Berkeley speech by internet flame-thrower Milo Yiannopoulos. The controversial Breitbart editor was evacuated from campus and the event was canceled, but not before the damage spilled into the streets.

Photos and videos from the scene showed protesters all in black — some part of AntiFA, an anti-fascist protest group — engaging in violent acts, damaging property, and injuring people.

Just one day later, conservative commentator, Gavin McInnes, was scheduled to speak to a group of College Republicans at NYU. Protesters attempted to stop McInnes as he entered the venue, and he began his remarks by announcing that he had been hit with pepper spray in the commotion:

“I’ve never gotten pepper sprayed before. You get the sense of panic where you’re like ‘how do I know it isn’t acid?’ And then you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, this isn’t Islam.”

The event was later completely disrupted by similar protests, and although there were no reports of serious injury, there were conflicting reports about possible arrests.

USA Today reported:

The New York City Police Department said there were no arrests and the protests were peaceful for the most part, but NYU Local, the school's independent news source, said via social media that arrests were taking place outside of the Helen & Martin Kimmel Center for University Life. The New York Post posted a photo of police carrying a young man away in handcuffs.

It was just as the police descended on the scene to keep order that an NYU professor was caught on camera joining the fray.

Her comments, in part, made it clear that she was in favor of someone visiting violence upon McInnes and his fans — but that she didn't think the “peaceful” protesters, like herself and her students, should be the ones to do it:

"You are f**king ass****! You're protecting the Nazis!

You should kick their a**! You should!

These are kids who are trying to learn about humanity! They're trying to learn about human rights and against racism and xenophobia, and LGBTQ rights, and you're letting these f**king Neo-Nazis near here! It's not up to these students to kick the a** of a Neo-Nazi! They don't have to raise their fist! They were taught to be peaceful! F**k you!"

She repeatedly referred to the police officers as “Proud Boys” (McInnes supporters) and demanded that they beat up “the Neo-Nazis” on behalf of the students.

McInnes, who was escorted from the premises after the event was cut short, was overheard shouting back at the protesters and telling an NYU spokesman as he left: "You’re a dumb liberal a**hole. You think these are rational beings.”
