The Situation: Jussie Smollett Trial Example of Our Sick Society

Three years ago, Jussie Smollett was all over the news after being the victim of a hate crime. Turns out after all that coverage, he paid some guys to "attack" him because he wanted to stir up controversy and get himself a raise (allegedly). Now, he's on trial for filing a false report. Smollett's story has a lot of holes, but Michael reiterates people are innocent until proven guilty, including Smollett. The prosecutor starts saying the alleged hate crime case was "tremendous rush to judgement" in this Chicago Tribune article. This is AP's article about the defense saying he really was a victim of a hate crime. Maybe people should wait for facts before condemning anyone as guilty or not guilty. There's public opinion and then there's the law.
